Yesterday (8.7) was gray with more than enough rain here around the old camera clubhouse. Fortunately, we had the greenhouses at the Chicago Botanic Garden for a backup plan since the Sunday morning Composition class was rained in. The sun made a cameo appearance towards the end of the afternoon so I was able to get outside with macro lens, tripod and a faithful camera. Since the sun had what, I must assume, was a short-term contract the actual happiness continued since gray days are perfect for visually exploring color shadings texture. Slow down, dial in an ISO of around 200 and f 11 or 14 and use manual focus. If ever a tripod was your friend, you can count on that happening now.
