Hollow logs work well as planters.
When it’s colder outside than you might like it to be around your own personal camera clubhouse, direct your creativity towards not only making but also photographing a floral arrangement. Use a small aperture to max out the depth-of-field. Doing so will probably extend the shutter speed time beyond your hand-holding capability, so get (and use!) a tripod.
