Sun-filled days help small subjects

March 26, 2020

We had another one-in-a row sun-filled day on Wednesday so I just had to find a camera. Sunny Day Settings: Low ISO (64 for both shots), Dial Down Exposure Comp (+/-) -.67 here, WB Sun, and Pattern Metering. Also use camera support (tripod with no center column) and manual focusing. Here are the details for you camera setting people:

Single Flower Settings: f5.6 @ 125, 180 mm macro lens, e/v -.67, ISO 64, full-frame light metering, manual focusing on orange centers

Tiny trio in afternoon light.

Flower Trio Settings: f13 @ 160, 105mm macro lens, e/v -.67, ISO 64, full-frame light metering, manual focusing on center flower so don’t tell the other two. Center of right side flower framed by 2 blades of grass.

Be sure to check out the DIY Photo Challenge for more self-imposed floral photo fun.
