Set up early for sun shots

March 16, 2019

Sun adds rim light to magnolia bud. Plan ahead.

I saw the sun setting on the night before I was able to get this shot. Since I hadn’t really prepared (no tripod, wrong lens) so there were keepers. I got out earlier the following night with a tripod and the appropriate lens. I did bracket the exposure. This photo tip: PLAN AHEAD FOR A COMPLEX SHOT. For you camera setting people: 160mm Micro Nikon lens, f11 @ 60th, -1 e/v, ISO 64, WB Sun, Spot w/highlight metering pattern, tripod.
