It’s all about the focus

April 6, 2020

Take time to hold focus.

Once you’ve found a subject, spend time composing it in the camera frame. Then, concentrate on the f stop and equally as important, the focus. This shot was taken at f5.6 @150, ISO 125 , 180mm macro lens and a tripod. While the selected f stop (f5.6) might have held depth-of-field sharpness, the manual focus was neglected–and it shows. To prevent this from happening to your images, try this: Use Auto Focus on the scene, then switch to manual focus to hold the setting. Since we’re all confined to home, we shouldn’t lose focus on anything.
