Cheap Thrill with a Zoom Lens

December 16, 2021

Another way a zoom lens is your friend.

It’s easy: 1. Select a subject that looks good a night. 2. Connect your camera to a tripod. 3. Set camera to A or Av mode 4. Dial ISO up to 800

5. Manually focus on your chosen subject. 6. Change the focal length by “zooming” the lens 7. Push the shutter release button during the zoom

You may notice a significant difference between zooming from the wide end to the long end of the focal length scale and starting at the telephoto end and pulling back to the wide end. Try it both ways and attach your favorite to an email and send it to me–jack@jackcarlsonphotos.com.
