Camera settings for a Christmas Tree at Night

December 26, 2020

Hopefully, you are in search of new photo subjects since you’ve been spending way too much time in the house.  Now that the Big Day is behind us, why not dust off your tripod to get a night  shot or two of the tree. Just follow these easy steps: 1. With the camera on your tripod, turn on Live-view setting   2. Zoom lens or move the camera to a spot that’s close enough to the tree to fill the frame.  3. Set White Balance to Incandescent  4. Set ISO to 1250 and turn off High ISO Noise Reduction  5. Open lens to its max (i.e. 3.5, 2.8 etc.)  6. Set camera to A or Av,  7. Manually focus on lights 8. Press shutter release  9. Enjoy the result
