Any opening = a great frame

April 18, 2019

Old structures spike interest.

Shooting through an opening does 2 things for the image: 1. Adds a sense of depth that carries the viewer’s eye into the scene and 2. creates a frame around the area. The building with the open door can also add interest if it’s not a run-of-the-mill structure. Use center-weighted metering on the dark areas, then adjust light level with exposure comp (+/).

Another version of an open door.
