While the students in the Composition class were busy photographing one end (at least) of the Serpentine Bridge at the Chicago Botanic Garden, I was able to tiptoe away for just a few moments to look for a different subject and found it with these gray birch trees. Stepping back a bit to simulate a wider focal length, the trees began to scream “Vertical Perspective, please.” If you’ve never heard them, it could be that you’ve just not been alone when you’re near them. Try it sometime.
