2022 Spring Classes Just Announced!

December 7, 2021

HI Everyone,

WOOHOO! The Orchid Show Returns!

We’ve just finalized these classes for the first part of 2022.

What’s New? Photographing Winter Contrasts will explore the shdows and sparkles that are found only in this special-light season.  The Orchid Show Classes return after almost a 2-year absence! either Sundays or Wednesdays. These always book out quickly so keep watching the CBG website so you won’t miss the chance to enroll. It’s great fun–even with an 8 am start!

Use this as a date planner since only some of these classes are up on the CBG website and available for registration.

Remember: Private lessons are available and make a perfect gift to give (or receive) and the student selects the topics to work on.  To arrange your time and days, just email me with your schedule. You select the subjects for each lesson. It’s always great fun, so don’t wait–good times book out early.

Have a most enjoyable Holiday Season and I’ll plan to see you soon.

Weekly Photo Tip

Take the center column away

A definite Sign of Spring.

If your tripod has a center column, you will want to remove it before getting down to photograph spring flowers. Even with a 100-180mm focal length macro lens, your tripod will be too far from the subject. There are two options: 1. purchase a tripod with a removable center column or 2. just purchase a tripod that never had a center column. Of these two choices, I’d opt for the first one.

About Jack

A classically trained musician since childhood, Jack Carlson always had the “ear” of an artist. It was only a short step to develop the artist’s “eye” as well.

The portfolio of this certified photographer reveals images that emphasize mood and composition. Their purpose is to present a feeling in addition to portrayal of person, place or thing. Sometimes that feeling is nostalgia; other times it is serenity.

Each photograph tells a story.
